Dog Care

Proper crate training for your dog or puppy is one of the single most important things you can do for your animal and yourself! The HSUS provides excellent instruction on how to crate train your new friend.

Nutrition is a very important part of your dog's life; it's the foundation which helps keep him/her healthy, and in turn, happy.
It is recommended you feed a high-quality, meat-based food designed to fulfill the needs of your pet's age and size.  Follow the feeding instructions for amount and frequency noted on the packaging.  Don't forget to include fresh water twice daily, and ensure the bowls you provide your dog's food and water in are washed daily.

If you find the food you've selected doesn't agree with you pet, you can and should gradually switch to a different brand of food (e.g., replace 1/4 of the former brand with the new food for 7 to 10 days, increase to 1/2 of the former brand with new food for another 7 to 10 days, and so on until you have completely switched to the new food).

As always, it is best to consult with your veterinary regarding any questions you may have on how best to care for your dog.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your dog, please do not hesitate to email Kim or Angie.  If they do not have the answer, they will do their best to point you in the right direction.

Please, do NOT HESITATE to seek veterinary treatment for a medical problem.
